Jeff Update

Awhile ago Jeff got a job. He's going to be teaching LSAT courses. Right now he's been going through training, but he's supposed to start teaching classes in March. So we'll be staying put this summer. Which is really so much easier on all of us. Best of all Jeff will be here when the baby is born. For a while we worried he'd have to fly back when I called him and told him I was in labor. That would not have been fun, especially since my babies tend to come quick.

Always Behind

It looks like I can't keep blogs updated. Now it's to the point where probably people have stopped coming. I've decided I don't really care about that though. Jeff and I went back and read through our blogs the other day, and it helped us remember things we had done. So, basically this is for us, so we don't forget everything that has gone on.

Part of my problem is that my camera went missing sometime before Christmas. Last I remember it I was taking it away from Finn and Nadia. No memories of it since, and I haven't been able to find it. Kind of depressing, especially since there has been some really cute shots I've missed because of it.

Jeff and I are expecting our third baby. It's another little boy. Nadia says we will have a girl when the boy is finished. We'll see.

This pregnancy has been quite the experience. Because Finn came early, my doctor here has prescribed progesteron shots to keep this one from coming early. Every week (usually Monday) a nurse comes to the house, does a checkup (and also listens to the baby's heartbeat), and then gives me a shot in the hip. I barely feel the needle anymore, but the hormone can be quite painful at times. Not to mention my hip usually hurts and or itches for several days later (often until Thursday).

So, I'm really bad at keeping this blog updated. I think my last post was in May. Geesh!

Mmm, so now that I've decided to update, what should I say. Jeff was gone for the summer on an internship in Idaho. While he was there the kids and I stayed with my family for the summer. They loved it.

We're back home now, and Jeff's back in school. The kids are . . . well tearing things apart. Me, I'm getting back into crafting.

Happy Mothers Day

I hope all the mothers have a wonderful day.

It's been great here so far. My babes (and husband) let me sleep in. Plus I get to sleep in for a whole week. How nice is that?

Lacking Patience

I'm afraid that I lack the patience to be a mom today. So if anyone wants my children (especially the girl child) feel free to come and get them. She's been crying practically nonstop since yesterday evening (well she's crying whenever she's awake.) Yesterday we put a band aide on her and it has been hysterics ever since. The actual scrape didn't bother her, but the band aide . . .

Finn is off to the doctor's today, so we'll get to see what he ways now that he is 14 months old. Hopefully he ways enough to face forward in his car seat. I'm doubting it, but I could be wrong.
We'll see.

Should I Stay Or Should I Go

We update our blog so infrequently, that I wonder if people even bother to check or read it anymore. So it brings up the question: Should we even bother keeping anymore?

Been Awhile

It's been awhile since I've last updated this blog and some things have changed in our lives. I've started selling Mary Kay. I have my own Mary Kay website and everything.

Jeff is still working on law school stuff, though this week was his spring break so we were able to have him home with us. The kids of course think this is great.
If you've seen the kids blog you know that Finn had his head shaved. It's growing back in now and is at that fun fuzzy stage.
Easter is coming up fast and I've yet to start planning for it. I was going to get Nadia her own digital camera, but we may have to opt out for a less expensive Easter. Unfortunatly, we will be here in Texas by ourselves. It was our first Easter living in the same town as grandparents so we thought the kiddos would get to play with Grandma and Grandpa, but they had other plans. They are off to Philadelphia to enjoy some time with Aunt Traci. So we'll be having a quiet little Easter here.

Going Crazy

Today is just one of those days. I think I'm going insane. Nadia has had a relapse in keeping her glasses on. I'm not even sure what happened to Finn. If I had known turning one would turn him into a little rebellious goose I would have hoped he day would never come. I've changed more dirty diapers today than two children should be able to produce. Nadia's tried to defy me in almost everything.

On the other hand it was somewhat productive and I was able to finish a project I was working on for a while. I ended up bringing my sewing machine into the living room so I could work with the kids in the same room. They both did remarkably well with it. However, now that we are near the end of the day hyperactivity is ensuing.

What's Happening Here

Jeff is back at law school. He has to stay later on some days than he did last semester, but other than that he's okay. We've been doing okay here as well. (With the exception of one day, but Grandma Becky came to the rescue so it worked out.)

As for me I'm living my life in crazy land. That is I'm crazy. (When I say this out loud Nadia says, "You not crazy. You mommy." Of course at other times she assures me that I am correct.) The reason I say this is that I love to plan projects. Only I always end up overplanning and have to many things to do at once. That's how it is this time. I have way to many things to complete by Valentine's Day. Some are Valentine related, most are not. (By the way, if you want to check out the results of some of my projects you can check out my new blog: Dabbling in Creativity.)

Finn's birthday is next Friday and I'm busy planning and getting things accomplished for his party on Saturday. Then I have Valentine projects as well as Jim Henson themed items that I am crafting for a lady. (My new blog will explain what this is all about.)

These are my definite plans. Then I have all the other things that I want to plan. Things I want to make. The list is endless. I just find too many fun things to do.

As for the kids: well there busy being kids. If you want some more details you'll have to check out their blog.

San Antonio

For Christmas, I gave Jeff a trip to San Antonio. We had never been there and everybody was always talking about how great it was so we thought we'd see what all the talk was about. The night before we left, we found out that we were arriving during the yearly cleaning of the Riverwalk. I was so upset thinking there would be no water. Luckily we arrived at the end of the cleaning when they were filling back up. So though no boat rides were available at this time there was at least water to look at. It was such a pretty place. Too bad I didn't think to take out my camera.
This is what I call a "Crazy Octopus Killer Plant." They were all over as Jeff and I took walks through the residental area we were staying in.

We stopped to have lunch while we were at the river walk and were entertained by the birds who would swoop down and steal sugar packets from the table. As you went along the walk you would find evidence of much thieving.

These pictures are of Jeff and I on our way home. We missed are babies and left fairly early on our last day to get home to them.

Christmas Time

Yea for Christmas. We've been spending most of our time her on Christmas projects. Decorating trees (making most of the decorations). Making home-made stocking stuffers. Making a few presents. Hanging home-made paper snowflakes from the ceiling. Baking Christmas cookies (well tomorrow anyway). Doing fun little Christmas things with Nadia. Wrapping presents. Shopping for presents (we're done by the way. Well Nadia and I am, Jeff is not). Basically just having a great time getting ready for the holidays. We are so excited and Nadia is starting to get the concept.
She likes the song "Jingle Bells" and today she heard me singing "Oh Christmas Tree" and started singing the first line over and over againg telling me "I like that song." She also sang along with "The Little Drummer Boy." Finn also sang along with us and it was pretty fun.
Merry Christmas everyone and may you have as much fun as we are.

Little Bit of Everything

So I've been trying to update blogger for like a week now and it wouldn't let me post. Now that it has I thought I'd do a little catching up. Though I have undoubtably forgotten much of what I had originally planned.
As you may have seen on Lori's blog we all went to the Rennissance Festival. I didn't get many pictures (other than Nadia at the petting zoo and they're not that great) but Bryan wanted a picture of this guy so he borrowed my camera. So here he is in all his post-apoctolyptic glory (think Mad Max).
Anyway, we had a great day yesterday. I mean that sarcastically (although marvelously I didn't actually get upset about any of it). Jeff got a virus on his laptop that would let others control it from a remote location and that memorized key strokes making it very unsafe. It short he had to completely reformatt his computer and he had some difficulties doing so. Then while I was out doing some shopping (necessity and Christmas combined) I got a flat tire. I mean flat. The rubber had come off of the rim. I happened to be in the Krogers parking lot at the time. Thankfully, Jeff's parents were kind enough to come and get me so I didn't have to walk home in the cold and dark. Then with their help we were able to get it taken care of this morning.
As for what we are up to lately. I'm trying to get our house put together. I mean we moved in in August and I hadn't bothered unpacking everything or putting things where they would be. So I've been working on that as well as planning Chirstmas projects (that I hopefully will get done in time). Nadia and I made paper snowflakes which we will be hanging from the ceiling as soon as I can get Jeff to help (we have nine foot ceilings and even with a chair I'm not quite tall enough). I also have a tea party to plan and throw for Nadia. So I guess we're pretty busy.

A Quick One

I can't take to long because Finn and Nadia are playing in their bedroom and I just heard Nadia say, "You be careful boy." Hopefully nothing bad is happening.

Anyway, today I'm going to attempt to get some cleaning done. I started in Nadia and Finn's room, but as they are playing there I'm sure it's a complete mess. "Nadzilla and Finnalous Raptor" have a tendency to undo everything I've just done.

Hopefully I can at least get the kitchen clean as I need to be cooking in there. Tomorrow is Olivier's birthday party and I have to make his cake so I need space to work. Also, I probably have to make a last minute shopping trip when Jeff gets home. I'm sure I forgot something I needed for the cake. I always do.

Nadia and Finn have just moved their playing (and toys) out into the living room, so I have to go take pictures and then clean up.

Happy Birthday Kevin.

As Nadia would say, "Happy Birthday Kevie." She can't wait to see you and wish you happy birthday in person. Though I would watch out for your cake. I think she has plans to steal it.
We hope you have a great birthday.

Twins

My sister Katie pointed out last night that she and Nadia are twins. You have to see the pictures. Check out her blog using the link to the right. It's amazing.

FHE Fun

Last night we had Family Home Evening. Seeing as it is November and Thanksgiving is coming up we had a short little lesson on gratitude. We talked about the primary song that teaches you how to pray and that the first thing you should do after beginning is "thank him for blessings he sends." Nadia was quite interested and she even "read" the scripture.
Of course her favorite part was the activity. We made a "Thankful Turkey."
She thought it was great to color the turkeys feathers. As we wrote we asked her what she was thankful for. We suggested things to which she would reply "Yes." (Namely crayons.) Then I asked her what else she was thankful for and she replied "Grandma." Isn't she just cute.
In other news both babes are sick and so easily upset. Right now Nadia is crying because Finn is laying on a blanket that she claims as hers. (Of course this could be because she is very and I mean VERY territorial about blankets. It's a comfort thing I think.)

Happy Birthday Olivier.

Today Olivier Preston Hemming turns 2 years old. We'd like to wish him a very happy birthday.
Nadia would like to welcome him to the terrible twos.
Have a great day Ollie.

Renn Fest

J took me to the Rennaissance Festival for my birthday and I loved it. I should say we loved it. In fact, we love it so much that we are hauling everyone back (who will come) Thanksgiving weekend. And of course we will dress up though this time in different outfits. I'm so excited and can't wait. We'd probably go again by ourselved before then, but I don't think we could wrangle all day babysitters again.
The two pictures at the top are from one of the gardens on the property. I absolutly love these two pictures, especially the one of Jeff. He's standing by a piece of art called "The tree of Life."
The bottom two pictures are just some of the pictures I took during the Joust. We were sitting in the English's Duke of Kent section. They actually have four parts to the Joust, but we only saw the two in the middle. We missed the last one which is a joust to the death, but I'm sure we'll catch it when we go back.
